Hi, I’m Jin.
I track early signals, then build to understand them.
Current focusAI in the software lifecycle
Here’s how I do it.
I test ideas by putting them against real work, then watching where the tradeoffs show up.
- 01
Track
Early signs while they are still unclear and messy.
I track where new signals and technologies change what teams can make, with AI as one current example, and what makes them worth adopting.
- 02
Build
Real working tools and prototypes with them, to learn what they actually change.
Shipping proof-of-concepts to see what those early signs do to teams, organisations, and digital systems.
- 03
Understand
Their second and third-order effects on teams and organisations.
Which trade-offs, unintended consequences, and strategic bets matter.

Applied AI in practice
AI work here starts from the parts demos usually skip: confidential data, uneven adoption, messy files, cost, latency, and the cognitive debt these tools can create. What matters is whether an AI model can become a tool people can inspect, trust, and use in actual work.

Writing
- What I learnt about Code-First Design, from using Claude DesignI've been using Claude Design to understand where code-first design fits into modern software development.
- One bug, eight fixes, and the cost of cognitive debtAI can accelerate implementation and repairs, but it does not replace the deliberate thinking needed to catch requirements that were never stress-tested.
- How you talk to AI is itself a design decisionSpec-driven and iterative prompting are both design choices. The question is where quality judgment belongs: upfront in a contract, or later through feedback.
Projects and tools
- Now In SingaporeA curated pulse-check on what is happening across Singapore right now.
- PromptPalAn internal Generative AI product for confidential, organisation-wide LLM access.
- PromptPal TranscribeA private transcription tool that turns spoken work into usable written material.
